The end of 2025 marked 80 years since the significant pro-monarchist and anticommunist demonstration of November 8, 1945. It was a demonstration attended mainly by young people from Bucharest (high school and college students), but also by other social categories, such as workers from some factories. Starting from the premise that there are not many consistent studies on this historical moment, we addressed the topic of the involvement of Greek Catholic lay organizations (AGRU and ASTRU) in the organization of the aforementioned demonstration, as well as others in 1945 and 1946. Using archival documents, especially materials from the Romanian pro-communist secret service (SSI), oral history testimonies, and journals, this article attempts to emphasize several aspects of the participation of some representatives of the aforementioned Greek Catholic associations in the anti-communist demonstration of November 1945.
